The programme focuses on the design, analysis, and evaluation of software architectures by integrating security awareness into every stage of development. The course introduces fundamental architectural concepts, patterns, and quality attributes, together with the foundations of security: CIAA, namely Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability, and Accountability, as well as basic security mechanisms.
Architectural evaluation methods such as the Architecture Tradeoff Analysis Method (ATAM) are presented, along with modelling and documentation through UML and component diagrams.
